SQUIRREL JAM WEIGH-IN COMPETITION

Show off your skills at the 3rd Annual Squirrel Weigh-In Competition for a chance to win trophies, cash prizes, and bragging rights, of course! Hunters from across the U.S. are welcome to participate, but all hunting must comply with local, state, and federal laws. For hunters in Georgia, state regulations apply.

Competition Check-in and Event Details

12:00 PM EST: Event doors open and check-in begins.

12:00 - 2:30 PM EST: Lunch from Zeigler’s BBQ is served.

2:00 PM EST: Check-in ends.

Silent auction, guest speaker, competition winners, door prizes, and raffle winners follow.

 

Competition Categories

Individual Competition: Compete solo for a trophy and cash prize.

2-Person Team Competition: Partner up to compete for a team trophy and cash prize.

Registration Details

Fees: $30 for individuals | $60 for 2-person teams

Deadline: Registration ends on January 20, 2025.

Each registration includes a BBQ lunch.

COMPETITION RULES & REQUIREMENTS.

Hunting Guidelines

  • Squirrels must be independently hunted on your own or permissible land.

  • All hunting must comply with local, state, and federal laws, based on your hunting location.

  • Squirrels must be hunted on the day of the event—no pre-hunted or frozen squirrels allowed.

Equipment and Squirrel Types

  • Allowed: Rim Fire, Pellet Gun, or BB Gun.

  • NO shotguns (squirrels with pellets will be disqualified).

  • NO flying squirrels or fox squirrels.

  • Hunting dogs are allowed.

Weigh-In & Check-In Requirements 

  • Individuals: Present your best 12 squirrels for the weigh-in.

  • Teams: Each team member may harvest up to 12 squirrels, but teams must present only their best 12 squirrels as a group for the weigh-in.

  • Check-in begins when event begins at 12:00 PM and ends promptly at 2:00 PM EST. No exceptions.

Prizes

  • Trophy cash prize for the overall heaviest bag of 12 squirrels (legal limit)

  • Trophy + cash prize for the overall largest grey squirrel (weight)

  • And, of course, bragging rights!

Additional Information

  • Squirrel Cleaning: Cleaning services will be provided at the event.

  • Squirrel Use: Squirrels will be packaged and saved for the 4th Annual Squirrel Jam’s dishes such as squirrel dumplings or jambalaya. Squirrel tails will be donated. 

  • Rain or shine event!
